What organizations have shared
We brought Athabasca AI in to help us build an AI use policy before we started evaluating any tools. The governance framework they delivered gave our leadership team a shared language and a clear set of principles to work from. The workshop sessions were some of the most productive conversations we've had on this topic internally.

The workflow pilot identified a document review process that was consuming a significant chunk of one team's weekly hours. After the pilot, that team got that time back. The report was honest about what worked and what needed adjustment — which I appreciated more than a cheerful summary would have been.

We've been through technology rollouts before where staff felt like change was being done to them rather than with them. The enterprise program felt different — and that comes down to how the Athabasca AI team structures participation across different levels of the organization. The internal champions we identified are still driving momentum months later.

What stood out to me was how carefully they listened before proposing anything. We'd had conversations with other consultancies where the recommendation was basically the same regardless of our context. Here, the tool evaluation actually reflected our data environment and our team's comfort with technology. That made a real difference in adoption.

Mireille's knowledge of PIPEDA was exactly what we needed. We're in a heavily regulated space and had real concerns about AI and data privacy. The governance document they produced gave our compliance team a solid foundation to work from — and the 30-day review session was genuinely useful when practical questions came up during implementation.

Sixteen weeks is a real commitment, and I went into it wondering if we'd lose momentum in the middle phases. We didn't — and I think that's because the program is structured to produce tangible outputs at each stage rather than building toward one large deliverable at the end. Our staff actually talked about it positively, which is unusual for a technology rollout.

Detailed stories from our work
Case Study 01 · Workflow Pilot
Challenge
A property management company was spending approximately 12 hours per week across its admin team manually processing and categorizing incoming tenant correspondence — a time-intensive process with inconsistent outputs depending on who was handling it.
Solution
Over 8 weeks, we mapped the correspondence workflow in detail, evaluated three AI classification tools against their specific data handling requirements, configured the most appropriate option, and ran a 3-week monitored trial with two staff members before broader rollout.
Results
Weekly processing time dropped from approximately 12 hours to under 4 hours. Consistency of categorization improved markedly. Staff described the tool as a genuine time-saver rather than an added burden — a result not always achieved in rollouts of this kind.
"The pilot report was concrete and honest — it told us exactly what had changed and what to expect from scaling. That kind of clarity is rare." — Property Operations Manager, Calgary
Case Study 02 · Governance Framework
Challenge
A mid-sized accounting firm's leadership team had received a board mandate to explore AI tools, but had no internal framework for evaluating them responsibly. They were fielding requests from individual departments and needed a principled way to respond.
Solution
The 4-week governance engagement produced a policy document covering data privacy requirements under PIPEDA, a bias review approach for any AI tool under evaluation, transparency standards for client-facing AI use, and an employee consent framework the firm could apply consistently.
Results
Within three months of receiving the framework, the firm had evaluated and approved two AI tools using the criteria developed, rejected one tool that didn't meet its data standards, and created a standard process for future evaluations that could be managed internally.
"We now have a consistent way to evaluate AI tools that our whole leadership team trusts. That was the gap we needed to fill." — Managing Partner, Accounting Practice
Case Study 03 · Enterprise Training
Challenge
A 120-person engineering services company had senior leadership excited about AI adoption and frontline staff anxious about job security. Bridging that gap while moving forward meaningfully required a structured approach to both education and change communication.
Solution
The 16-week program opened with AI literacy sessions tailored to each department's actual work context, included executive briefings designed to help leadership communicate the change honestly, and identified six employees from different teams to develop as internal AI champions through mentoring and tool practice sessions.
Results
Six months after completion, the six champions were actively supporting colleagues with AI tools in their respective departments. Staff survey scores on AI readiness and confidence improved substantially from baseline. The company had avoided the resistance that typically accompanies technology rollouts of this scale.
"The champions framework was the best outcome we didn't know we were getting. Those six people have been worth their weight in gold for sustaining the change." — HR Director, Engineering Services
